Debbie Raatz has been a teacher at Cortez since 1999. She is the FACS Department chair and teaches Intro to Culinary and Culinary Arts. She started the Culinary Club and they are quite active with community service projects, catering events and doing "TO GO" lunches. Debbie is the sponsor of FCCLA chapter and they are involved in yearly competitions. The advanced culinary students are involved in C-CAP (Careers in the Culinary Arts Program) and receive supplemental training from chef's.

Debbie graduated from the University of Illinois with a BS degree in Home Ec /Business. She received culinary educator training at Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY and at Johnson and Wales in Rhode Island. Debbie received Achievement Above All in 2008.
